WHAT IS LEADERSHIP WYANDOT COUNTY
1. Leadership Wyandot County is designed to help people become effective leaders in order to enhance the social and economic well being of our community.
2. Leadership Wyandot County is intended to create a network of active leaders who can share ideas and procedures as they work on a variety of issues.
3. Ownership of Leadership Wyandot County is with the community. The Upper Sandusky Chamber of Commerce, Carey Chamber of Commerce, and Ohio State University Extension’s role is to facilitate the development of an effective steering committee that guides the design and management of Leadership Wyandot County.
4. People are asked to apply to become participants in Leadership Wyandot County. The steering committee will select the participants.
5. The budget will be developed by the steering committee. Funding usually comes from fees--generally between $100 and $500 per participant--and local firms, government, and organizations. Scholarships are often offered.
6. Membership will be limited to about 25 people to insure that each participant is an active learner. Approximately 20 participants are needed for an effective learning experience to occur.
7. The results of Leadership Wyandot County will be long term; one class will be offered each year.
8. Leadership Wyandot County is an intensive, demanding, rewarding, learning experience. Participants are expected to attend sessions and to be active participants responsible for their own learning.
