4-H Volunteer Information

Be a 4-H Volunteer

Volunteers are a crucial part of the 4-H program.  Have you ever wondered who is a 4-H Volunter?  The answer is any parent, gandparent, community supporter, past 4-H member, or older youth who believes in youth reaching their potential through the 4-H program.  That probably describes you doesn't it?  Have you ever considered how you can help kids, our community, and our future by volunteering your time, talents, and effort to give kids a hand through 4-H.

Volunteers serve as 4-H Club Advisors, Cloverbud Advisors, Committee Members, Key Leaders, Camp Staff, and even office help.

To become a 4-H volunter working directly with kids you need to:

  1. Complete an application, complete with references and a Standards of Behavior.
  2. Be interviewed.
  3. Be fingerprinted and have a background check.
  4. Have your references checked.
  5. Participate in a two hour training.

If you are interested in starting a 4-H or Cloverbud Club, contact the OSU Extension office and we will get you started in the process.  If you would like to help in some other way, let us know and we will let you know how to get involves.
